The GOSEHR initiative has four main aspects:

• Engagement with local Community Companies, Healthcare Providers and Government Agencies in lower-income countries. coordinated by partner NGOs (Non-Government Organizations).
• Deployment of cityEHR using the In-A-Container paradigm for a secure and sustainable technical infrastructure
• Education through the Applied Health Informatics masters program and locally-led technical training.
• Research through doctoral and post-doctoral research at partner universities, investigating the requirements for open source EHR and evaluating local deployments.
